How cool is that....there's a guy sitting on a chair Seriously, I liked the painting already, and then on the second look I saw that and cracked up Best would be, if he actually brought it with him, ha! But seriously, love the angle, the tilted horizon and the composition of this. I would totally want to be the guy who's sitting there. Just marvel at the scenery...and then I'd probably sketch it, which is...weird. The glow of the sunlight and the variation in colour is quite nice, too. My only two concerns are the quite softish looking mist at the top and the bottom, and these four figures on that top ledge. By their scale they must be statues, but they look sort of too posed, if that makes sense? Maybe I'm just seeing something totally different here, than you intended...but the left one looks a bit like a sexy cover girl with her hand on the hip and the right one like a tennis player about to hit the break Which is kind of funny, really
As you can see, my concerns are rather nitpicky-ish, I really quite love this piece Wonderful work! Daniel
This is absolutely brilliant. I love how the eye is drawn from one key aspect to another. You see the gorgeous gleaming city, then the immense statues at its side. You then come down and see the dark shapes of birds flying in the foreground, and finally the intriguing figure sat on the chair watching it all. Love to know the story behind this one, it's just inspired!
